Does anyone know of any sort of cross reference chart as to what gear sets will fit what lower unit for Mercury product? I have a 60hp merc with a bad lower unit that I'm having trouble finding the correct gears for. I'm sure there are other ratios available for this housing, especially with it being an odd ratio (1.62:1) but I cannot find the information or part numbers anywhere.

Thanks,
Brad

1:62 has to be an old Merc.Do you have model & serial #'s?Maybe I can help

I was wrong, the ratio is 1.64:1. it's a 1997 mariner, 60ELHPTO, serial 0G495557. 14 tooth pinion with 23 tooth drive and reverse gears

Well, I found a complete lower unit at a reasonable price ($400) finally... If anyone is in need of parts, I now have a good lower unit housing, prop shaft, and driveshaft. All are from a 1997 mariner 60hp, ELHPTO, 20" transom. I know of some other models they fit, but not certain of all.

Thanks everyone for all the info,
Brad
