Well, we are finally making some progress on this thing. Last weekend we got the main floor down and carpeted and started on the two side compartments. I didn't get a chance to take any pics of the almost completed side compartments before I left but will include them on my next update. My dad gave me a couple of old nasty green boat seats that he pulled out of his boat when he got his new seats. I already removed the old vinyl from one and am working on cleaning the other one up this week. I found some navy and light gray marine vinyl at a fabric place here in town and have a friend who's aunt upholsters boats for a living so if all goes as planned I should have four "new" seats ready to go when I head back home in a few weeks. After my next visit we should have the back deck with hatches finished, the driver and passenger seats mounted and the console built. I am also hoping to get the wires run for the motor and some of the other electronics.

We left a gap on both the sides of the floor and the styrofoam pieces are resting on top of the rivets in between each channel so they are not touching the hull. We, or I should say, my dad kind of figured that water should be able to flow over the sides of the floor and under the styrofoam to the center and then back to the bilge area. I was going to put the styrofoam on the floor and call it a day but he said not to do that because we needed space under the styrofoam to let water flow.

Also, we are cutting small openings along the bottom of the angle frame. When we're done there should be several 1" gaps along the bottom of each side of the frame to allow water to flow under the side compartment frame and down over the sides of the floor.
