I wait for this time of year so I can throw my topwater lures and watch as a monster largemouth smashes it on top of the water. I have not been fishing much lately between family and work and this insanely hot heat wave but I finally got out to do some topwater fishing on my favorite private lake. I was determined to get some action on my topwater rod and ended up never putting it down because the action was so good. Water was 85 degrees!! Me and my partner started fishing at dawn and i started the morning off right by catching three fat 3-4lb bass on back to back to back casts on my Sammy at our first hole. He didnt have any sammys and being the partner I am let him use one of mine. I taught him how to walk the dog and he was instantly addicted and he ended up boating 4. We ended up catching 12 bass that morning with literally nothing under 2.5 lbs and most between 3-4 and 5 being the largest. I could not believe the quality of the bites we were getting.. no dinks on this morning. Topwater has to be the most addicting presentation there is because when there smashing it, nothing else beats it. And yes, the pics are all diffrent fish so many good fish this day we stopped taking pictures. Get your topwater rod out!
