New Trolling Motor

Picked up a new trolling motor yesterday. A MinnKota 50# thrust 42" shaft to go on my 14' Ultra Jon. Already rotated the head to work as a bow mounted T/M and it will replace my M/G 34# 30" shaft. Should have no problem moving my little load. Pictures to follow when weather permits me to exchange.

Thats a good TM... I've got a 55 on the rear of my 12' and it pushes me good.. I don't know why, but those trolling motors always work best and seem to go faster when you turn the head around and use them on the front. I'm sure there's logic behind it - maybe better at pulling than pushing

I have my MK Endura 30 set up on the front of my 12' boat like that. They work very well pulling the boat.

Can't recall where I read it, but the article mentioned that TM's are more efficient at pulling than pushing.
