Odd modification to a jonboat

So, I just bought a jonboat and figured this would be the best forum for info. Its a 14' Mirrocraft and im looking to do something kind of odd to it, and I'm hoping someone here can help me out. Instead of painting the inside of the boat, I'm looking to adhere a very thin, rubber type material that conforms to the contour of the boat. Does anyone out here in interweb land have any ideas?

spray in or roll on truck bed liner

Bed liner or Skid no More. There are several other brands out there also. Not an odd thing at all. I have done it to all of my boats.

Do I have to completely sand and prime the interior of the boat before I spray a bed liner on?

Sandblast then spray tuffcoat.
