paint and primer

Hi, I will be stripping my jon down to bare aluminum, i will probably use parkers duck boat paint. Do any of you know if it is decent or not. Also they dont sell a primer but it says to use primer on their site. I was wondering if i can use just a rustoleum clean metal self etching primer on it. Thanks
