I am a big fan of the Rust-Oleum products.
the new line of Top Side paints are really good.
This is how I added non-slip grit to the floor paint in my Crestliner.
I added half the amount suggested to a pint of Rust-Oleum Aluminum Primer
and primed the desired area that had been masked off.
The next day, I masked off the desired area with masking tape
and brushed on the TopSide paint (with 1/2 the amount of grit).
With each additional layer of coating, I raised the masking tape
(if you use it) up 1/4". This will alleviate the harsh line between
the smooth and rough surfaces. I would suggest adding only
half the suggested amount of grit into a small plastic pot of paint
and apply two or three coats 24 hours apart. Instead of one coat with a lot of grit.
too much grit will make application difficult - so test first.
There are several makers of grit and paint - - - this is your choice due to availability
and any past experience you may have had with previous painting projects.
If you prefer to use latex base paints, read the instructions prior to purchase.
