Painting over Spar?

Well the sun melted the snow off the boat and it got me thinking of the work that needs done on the boat. The transom wood needs replaced and possibly some reinforcement as I hung a MB 45 Mag surface drive on it. I hope to paint the entire boat at some point but want to wait until all mods are done. Can I paint over the Spar urethene?

I put rustoleum over spar on my console and storage boxes over the winter. It seems fine so far but time will tell.

I put Rustoleum over oil based spar.

Thanks fellas. I don't know much about paint but do know some paints don't like to go over other paint. I want to get my transom repaired before bear season. I hope to paint the whole boat later this summer.
