So I headed out in the cold to cast a bit for some big fish on the big lake, no takers, no hits even. I took a crankbait set up, G.Loomis CR844-blend with a Revo STX. I don't use this rig alot since I don't do much cranking but I thought maybe some Coho would take a X-Rap or a Pointer. I think I'm not that comfortable with this reel because it's so quiet and smooth. It sounds weird but it's like on my Shimanos and Quantum I know what's going on by sound and I'm more connected. Anyone else have this irrational experience?

I love mine, after two years of abuse and no lube jobs, it still barely makes a noise when reeling in. I know what you mean though, I prefer my old daiwa exceler over my much newer fuego sometimes just because I can hear the reel working. It puts another sense into your fishing instead of just feeling or seeing.
