I bought a boat in need of repair. It fit the budget so I went for it. The PO removed quite a few rivets and they need to be replaced. However not all of the holes are round. How do I go about fixing them.
Also, I can't find this answer anywhere. Does the air hammer go on the button head or does the bucking bar go on the button head?

Thanks
Nick

Depends on size of messed up holes, one way is to drill out the hole with larger bit and use a larger than normal rivet. I have always used the air hammer on head, but I also use a rivet set to match the button head.

If your just sealing the old holes you can have them welded, another way is to take a piece of aluminum and glue it over the hole with 3M 5200.
