Poles are made from 8 or 10 foot long solid fiberglass rods, depending on water depth. I just glue a pvc T to the end to act as a handle, and make it easier to remove or insert into harder bottoms. These poles are available from AM Leonard or FarmTec, but the shipping is kinda expensive so it might pay to shop locally if possible. Try farm supply stores or nurseries as the poles are designed as tree stakes. hope this helps.

Oops  forgot 3/4 inch diameter rod is what I use, my brackets are also "lined" with pvc pipe to prevent abrasion to the fiberglass rods.

Good job!

You essentially made one of these:

I wonder how much money you put into yours?

I have a set of stick it anchor pins on my boat and love them, one of the best mods I did.

I've got a friend that works for the power co. but I'm not sure what I'd want the insulators for. Can you elaborate a little on that.

And for anyone interested, I went to the Home Depot garden center the other day and ask about fiberglass tree stakes. They said they were out of stock but that they did normally carry them and would be getting more in before spring.

Hmm I guess what I'm finding with Google using that search term is wrong then. All I'm seeing are some of the porcelain insulators for guy wires.

Look around your area and see if they even use them . If you stop and ask a crew if they use them and describe it to then you may find out they call them something completely diffrent. Some of YA'll talk funny . LOL

I've been all the way around this ball of dirt n water we call a planet, and everyone thinks that others talk funny. I modified the search and found some insulators made of fiberglass with a silicone coating.

Yup thats about it, little bit of copyright infringement, I guess

i doesn't bind up in the waves or when you move about the boat?
seems the pole fits snugly in the holder while deployed?

No binding the fiberglass rod slides up and down in the bracket freely. Mine are lined with pvc to protect the fiberglass rod and prevent binding

im fishing out of a 12 footer and when i move about the boat it leans side to side pretty good it would seem the angle of the bracket would be swinging from left to right depending on where i was moving and what not and would be bending the rod and testing what ever mount it was hooked up to

i didn't see this guy using the bracket on the video just tied to a length of rope https://www.stickitanchorpins.com/Video.html

witch would probably work better for me im and simpler but not as slick looking and easy

yeah I think mine help stabilize the boat by not letting it tip as much. the poles will flex some to allow some give. I have also saw the rope used but mostly on kayaks, but should also work on a flat also.

I can't quite make out what you are using for your brackets. The pics are showing small on my phone. Would you mind telling what you used?
