Smallmouth and Okuma reel break in...

Me and my brother made it down to the river today to do a little fishing, we were setting out for some cats but my brother caught the only one a small flathead. No pic of it, it was so small the camera wouldn't focus on it... LOL But anyways I seen a few smaller bass chasing minnows in the shallows around the weeds, I tied on ol' faithful white spinnerbait, second cast...

I caught it on my new rig, Okuma Avenger AV30 spooled with 10lb Power Pro (2lb diameter), mounted on a Berkley Cherrywood 7' med action rod. The reel works awesome and the drag is smooth as silk. It's actually the first time I have used any of the "super lines" and I absolutely love it.

Nice Smallmouth! I cant wait to get a hold of one of those at Dale Hollow in October. I heard they pull harder than the Spotted Bass I grew up catching in North Alabama. That's gotta be fun.
