I've been lurking around for a couple of months.. it took that long to go thru all the great mod ideas posted here...great site!

Anyway, I had an old 1232 that I never used anymore since I mostly canoe the rivers, and had a really ragged trailer that my buddy abandoned behind my shop. With all the rain we had this year I could hardly get the canoe in to fish, so I decided to fix up the jon and re-do the trailer so I could fish a couple of electric-only lakes we've got. And after getting all that done, I had to have a bigger boat, of course...and wound up buying a 2002 Lowe Roughneck 1752VPT with a Johnson 70 hanging on it...and now, of course, I've got to mod it a bit. I got "mod-fever" when I started adding bits to my Tahoe...as you can see in the pic.

One question tho', for you Roughneck owners...where can you buy attachments for the receiver gunnels, and plates for the bench/seat receiver in the back? I've searched, but can't seem to find any info on where to get them.

Welcome Aboard, and good to see another Roughneck owner! 8) . I have a 2008 Roughneck 1652VT, but don't use any receiver gunnel accessories. Not sure what you mean by the "...plates for the bench/seat receiver in the back". The Lowe website doesn't provide much info (ordering) as far as accessories for the gunnel receiver, but I did find a site listing Lowe dealerships, which will probably be your best bet as far as locating accessories.

Here's the link for VA: https://www.loweboats.com/locate-dealer/VA/

Post some pics of your boat when you get a chance, and nice mods to the Tahoe!

I couldn't sleep and was lurking around here, I'm not a Roughneck owner but I think you mean the "seat plates that go into channel rails". You can find some at: https://www.hutchingsmarine.com/content/hutchings/CustomPages/Catalog/467-494_SEATS_BASES___TABLES.pdf

Hope this helps. This is what I have in my boat along the benches and it works great for me.

Thanks for the compliments on the 'hoe...she's pretty much just a big black tackle box :p

I guess I should've been a little more descriptive on the seat thing. There's a receiver slot, looks a lot like the gunnel receiver, that runs across the front of the bench. There's a bracket mounted to the bottom of the seat that fits in that receiver channel, so you lay the seat all the way forward, set the bracket into the receiver channel, and lift the seat up into position. I'll try to take a pic or two this weekend.

It works a lot like the mount in the pic below, but of course that one doesn't fit coz that would be Wayyyyyy too easy. It's as if you mounted the receiver in the pic to the face of the bench, instead of the top of the bench.

I guess I had a brain fart the day I read the original post, but know what you mean now. A friend of mine has a 1542 Roughneck, and his rear seat is "attached" by the slider rail. he got his installed at the dealership when he bought his rig (same place I bought my boat). Contact Tyler Boats, Inc., (located in Rockport, IN, across the river from Owensboro, KY), and see if they have what you need. They might have something from another rig you can use, or they can possibly order it. Family owned, and always helpful.
