What makes a flatbottom boat different from a v hull boat. pros and cons of each one plz?

Stability standing still (flat bottom) vs Nicer smoother ride in rougher waters (V-boat). It really all depends n where you spend most of your time on the water. Little ponds, big lakes, Rivers?
