Hey guys, I'm just starting on year #2 in my boat with no real plans to upgrade in '09....BUT, as one who scours every topic he can find on aluminum boats, I'm always thinking about what the next boat might be. Two boats that interest me greatly are the Lund Alaskan 20' side console, and the Starcraft Freedom 18' side console. Do any of you own, or have experience with either of these boats? Here is why I'm drawn to these...tell me if my thinking is right! lol
1.I want more room in the boat, even if there are only 2 people. My 16' side console is a little cramped.
2.I want a wider, more stable boat
3.I want a the boat to remain relatively light, and these 2 models are not all "bulked-up" like alot of the bigger Starcraft/Lund/Crestliner/Tracker boats.
4.I run my boats in big lakes typically, where the water can go from dead-calm to 3' rollers in a matter of minutes. A bigger V-hull seems like a much better choice than a low-riding jon or modified-V.
Thanks for taking the time to respond, I look forward to your opinions.
Cheers,
Rob
