trolling motor pedal on sloped floor

I pulled my casting deck out of my 14' V hull to save some weight and try it out that way but since the floor at that part of the boat is sloped how do I use my trolling motor pedal? any Ideas?

Cut a wedge and put it on the floor to level out the pedal?
