After less than 1000 miles and about 10 launches I noticed some grease on one of my wheels and figured the seal must have failed. So I pulled it down to repack and the inner bearing was locked up. And the part of the spindle where the seal rides had weld splatter on it that had to be cleaned...

I'm thinking about upgrading my 15hp to a 25hp. My question is since I have a long shaft now with a jack plate would you buy another long shaft or go with a short and remove the jack plate? I'm leaning toward the Yamaha. When I do it I will list my Tohatsu 15hp 4 stroke for sale

I've looked at several fish finders and think I've narrowed it to these two. The Humminbird 688ci Hd or the Lowrance Elite 5 hdi. Does anybody have experience with either units? And if so would you share your thoughts good and bad. Thanks

They still havent moved in real shallow yet. Water temp is 59-60 on the surface. I am learning more about these rascals every trip. The best lesson is they taste good. We caught the crappie and a guy at the ramp gave us the hybrid bass. Speaking of which what is the best was to get that dark...

The water was still a little too cool for the big specks to move into the shallow water. But the bass seemed to like those jigs tipped with minnows. My wife caught all the bass and I got the speck

We finally got a good day weather wise so me and the wife headed to the lake. The crappie hadnt moved in shallow yet but my wife caught a nice one about a pound or so and we caught 4 of those yellow perch. Ive never eaten those perch but they are on the menu for lunch tommorow.
