Been working on this boat on and off for awhile......Just put it in the water the other day....1980 14' Gregor w 1972 Johnson 20hp.....electric start....home built stick steer......so far it all works pretty well for a 300lb old man.....LOL still work to do but at least it hit the water.

so if the trailer is set up right should the bunks be touching the bottom the full length of the bunks ? rollers down the center....I have 4 for a 14' aluminum....should all be touching at rest? seems it would ride better if so.....But it is all new to me..... Thanks Jack

I am redoing the fuel system on a 1972 Johnson 20 hp.....Im thinking it should have a fuel filter inline somewhere....maybe before the fuel pump?....Any input would be great.... Thanks Jack

Looking to go thru the fuel system on a 1972 johnson 20hp. Just wondering if I can replace the fuel lines under the cowl with fuel line from the auto parts store? Also there is a small line that is brittle hard...not sure what it is so not sure what it can be replaced with. I will show a picture...

So I am moving things from my kayak to a 14' Gregor v hull. I will be running a front and rear deck with trolling motor up front and 20hp in the rear....I am only planning 1 fish finder. Just kind of wonder where you all mount yours when only running 1 ? pics would be great. Thanks Jack

I am working with a 1972 Johnson 20 hp. I just got it running and just wondering about exiting from a hole in lower unit just behind motor mount. Here is a picture....the water in question is pretty much in the middle of picture. I am guessing this is not right.... Thanks for any help. Jack

I need a need v block or roller for the bow on my trailer......I am going to redo the whole set up so I can use what ever is best.....what do you like? Any pictures of a good winch and v block/roller set up ? Thanks Jack

OK I'm going to ask a ? and yes I tried to search......I have a 1972 Johnson 20hp....I is missing the rod for slow speed enrichment ? +/- rich/lean...anyway it seems to be no longer available....I can maybe make 1 if maybe someone can give me a length?... or does it matter much? Thanks Jack

so i have a Johnson 20 hp....1972. It has sat for who knows how long. I did a compression check awhile back and it was great.....electric start worked good.....what do I need to look at before i try to start it? Thanks for any help Jack

Hey....I am wanting to get a tin boat......I have a 20 hp so looking for a Gregor or valco 14' v bottom or a 15/42 bass pro shops jon boat. I want a small deck on the front and will mostly fish for bass. Just wonder how stable this will be for a big guy ? 6'1" 275lb. Thanks Jack

Been kind of looking for a 12-14' v-hull. Seems everyone I look at is at the top of price range and pretty beat. Stopped at BPS today and looked at a 1542-----Think I am hooked. I have a trailer, Will remodel to fit boat I buy. Have a 20 hp Johnson and a 48 lb trolling motor. Just talking out...

Just wondering if the livewell drain goes thru the bottom on a tracker 1542? I haven't seen one in person that is why I have asked. Thanks Jack

Ok.....Pretty new to outboards. so If I ask something stupid........!972 Johnson 20 hp prop? My prop has a slight bent prop, Going to send it off to have fixed. In my research everything I find says it is a pin drive prop. My shaft and prop has splines, I'm I missing something? Thanks Jack

I was given a 1972 Johnson 20 hp, It has been sitting for many years. Just wondering what the compression should be? High/low? I have done nothing to it yet but plugged in the compression tester. Pulled 3 times each cylinder, Both came in at 95. Seem low? Thanks Jack
