I mounted my Minn Kota 2 bank under the deck near the TM battery. I used Minn Kota extensions according to their instructions (they supply butt splices and heat shrink) to connect my starting battery back at the transom. Been using it a couple months now with no problems.

So far Amazon hasn't charged me any tax here in Alabama. Their free ship is slow. Took five days just to get ship notification. Should have mine Tuesday. Wife and I caught a few bluegill and couple of cats the other day. I just wish we'd kept all we caught and boated all we hooked!

I used what's called 'split loom'. Comes different sizes and colors.

I run my lights and bilge off my cranking battery and have a dedicated deep cycle from Wal Mart for my trolling motor.
