    Homemade Jack Plate

What size bolts did you use to mount the jack plate to the transom? I just ask because the bolts I have holding my 25 horse 4 stroke onto the transom look to be about twice the diameter. I just don't want to have your plate rip off due to the weight of the motor? Dave

    Tracker 17'L54"W Jon Modification

First off, GREAT JOB! I've got a 1650 Xpress that is a similar build. Second, do you have jack plate on the motor? Or is it just mounted up high in the transom? Just curious, looks like she is riding higher which would be great for the skinny water. Third, Do you have Power T&T on the...

Newbie here with an old UGLY flat bottom boat...

Looks like a fun project. I'd be extra careful with 4 in that small of a craft, especially with little ones that young. Now as far as the Chevelle goes, let's see some pics! I'm picturing black with red stripes for some reason???

    Carpeted fender replacement?

I would think that just using some screws would do the trick, just make sure you get them countersunk down so there is no chance of scratching your boat. As far as wood goes you'll get different answers. Here's my .02. The fenders on your boat are not going go be underwater for long periods...

    Adding another pedestal seat...

Ok so I couldn't go all summer without making a couple mods. Here's one I working on and would like your input. I'm going to add a extra pedestal seat mount to the floor. This will be to half inch plywood floor that is carpeted. I have enough clearance for the seat base to go in but was...

    Following the spawn...Iowa Catfish

It seems almost like clockwork that you can follow the spawn of every species that the great state of Iowa has to offer. We start with Walleyes after ice out and the move through the ranks to crappies, bass, bluegills and catfish. Viewing records from previous years catches shows that this...

    I'm in TROUBLE!

Over the weekend we worked on casting and reeling in a toy screwdriver from the boat while sitting in the garage. I can tell I'm going to have to revamp the boat a little this winter to make it more fisher friendly for him, and it give me an excuse to customize things a little more. :D...

    I'm in TROUBLE!

Well I've got about 14 years to go before I never see my boat again! I'm afraid when this one turns 16 he'll have my boat permanently hooked up to his truck! We spent a good day cleaning out the boat and throwing a fresh coat of wax on the Merc. It only seems to get more and more...

WW- That is crazy, our boats could be related! Maybe we'll have to get them together some time for a play date. :D Thanks! I hope that people like it. Maybe we can get Jim to add an "In My TINBOAT" to the board index so we can post them all there? Hopefully we will get more people...

    Boat Terminology drawing

Here's a little trick my dad taught me years ago. The starboard side is always the right side. In most smaller crafts the console is on the right side, where the STAR(boat owner/operator) sits. IE, the Star sits on the starboard side. That always helped me remember the difference.
