Hey Guys! Wanted to see your all electric rigs!!

This is one of our local lakes that's electric only, fortunately they due allow gas motors to be attached. Cruz control mode trolling for trout. View from the drivers seat. Notice the red pee bottle, very important.

    Electric reservoir setup

At my local "electric only lake" they allow you to have your gas motor attached but not use it. At a 155lbs I would rather leave it on. My electric setup includes a 55lbs trolling motor on the back, a 55lbs Ipilot on the bow, two batteries and a switch to change between them. I can troll...

    Johnson trolling motor quit

Magnets have a north and south or + and - to them so it's possible you put the magnets in wrong. You would need the magnets opposite of each other. For example, install the left side with north facing away from you and install the right side with north facing you. If the motor runs backwards...

    Evinrude 9.5 Speed Check

That sounds about right, the 9.5 is not a speed demon.

    Is this repairable?

Take your boat to a marine repair shop and get an estimate for repairs and/or replacement. Then hold the insurance company liable for the repairs. If they refuse, hire a lawyer. Most likely that motor is not repairable, parts are probably not available. So replacement is what is needed. I don't...

    1965 Evinrude 9.5 New Member

One of the common problems with the 9.5's is the rubber exhaust gasket would leak and fill the cowling with exhaust fumes choking the motor. Try running it without the cowling to see if it runs better.

    Help! Replacing seat foam??

Most of those seats have a white Styrofoam inside and won't hold any water. It's usually the same stuff that is used under docks.

    beat the heat ...... shade / cover / bimini / t-top

My custom bimini top. No straps but does have two aluminum poles, one in the front (starboard side) and one in the rear (port side) and two cross supports that hold it open. It provides good shade in the heat of the day and you can stand up underneath it. The pole on the port side can easily be...

Transom Wood - If you had your choice

The correct answer is; marine plywood sealed with epoxy. Call around you can find it at a lumber yard near you. Here in California, it runs about $75 a sheet.

New to TinBoats - Trolling motor question

A 55# motor will work fine and like Captian Ahab said, two are always better than one. If you are going to be trolling at all then a bow mount will track much better than a transom mount. Having both motors on your boat will make it safer. If one quits working or gets wrapped up with fishing...

    HONDA tiller outboards

I have a 1999 Honda 25hp tiller on my 15 foot Klamath. The motor is quiet, gets good gas mileage but is lacking on the speed side. I've never cared for Honda's much, as they seem to produce a mid-tier engine for a premium price. I would trade it for a Yamaha or fuel injected Merc any day. Do a...

    Rudder for my Basshunter boat

Nicely done! Post back and let us know how it worked out. One more comment; put a safety rope/string on it so it can't find it's way to the bottom.

    Going electric

If you want to stay "all electric" a good upgrade would be to add a second group 31 battery (Walmart), a battery switch to turn on/off and change between batteries, and an on-board charger. At first it seems expensive to add an on-board charger but the benefits outweigh the cost. You just plug...
