    Fiberglass Boat Cover Supports

The fleet farm in Brooklyn Park was out of these already.. D'oh. This Rochford Supply place is in Brooklyn Park too. If you ever make it up to the cities, that might be worth a stop.

    Fiberglass Boat Cover Supports

Any thoughts on these style of cover supports? I have a new cover coming from a tin boats.net sponsor, and I would like to give it the proper support it deserves. My boat has the sockets, and I tried the wood versions with no luck. They bend, bowed, and were general pieces of scrap. They...

Kismet, love the firefly reference on your Model F... DanOpi, If you need some ½" marine grade plywood, vinyl, and other bits let me know. I am wrapping up a floor project for a 16' lund and I will probably have some good leftovers. I am in the north metro. PM if interested. Not sure how...

can you add rope start to an electric start motor?

I took a look under the hood, and I saw the notch in the flywheel where a rope would go. As for the rope itself, it looks like that has been lost to the sands of time. Is that something one can get at the local boat dealer? Thanks! Peter

    1985 evinrude 25hp electric start

I would say get your hands on a service manual. It would have instructions on how to clean out the carb. If there was gas left in it the last time it ran, the are probably deposits that blocking all the little passages that fuel flows through. You may also need a rebuild kit if too much...

can you add rope start to an electric start motor?

My motor is a '94 Evinrude 25 HP longshaft. It only has the electric start. I was thinking tonight that if I drained the main battery down to much, that I would be SOL in trying to start this thing. Can you add a rope starter to this motor? I also have a 30lb thrust trolling motor that runs...

    1985 evinrude 25hp electric start

Test the compression one the cylinders. They should be relatively close for each cylinder. If one is significantly lower, there are bigger problems than carbs! Good luck!

    Scoping out project ideas

I've been thinking about some project ideas for my boat and I wanted to get some idea of how long these may take or cost. The boat is a '81 16' Lund Pike. She's a good solid boat, but has seen a lot of service in the last 32 years and needs some TLC to get another 30. She started out as a...

    Cooler livewell

This almost sounds to easy to be true! The previous owner of my boat had started a cooler livewell. There is a pump installed to pull in water from the lake, and I think his/my plan was to wire up a bilge pump in the cooler to recirculate water, but if I could just use the pump bring water in...

    Ice Fishing Blues

Agreed on the cruel and unusual, it was 65 in the twin cities yesterday, with thunderstorms last night. But this morning it is a balmy 30 with ice pellets. Wonder if we will have ice before the St Paul Ice show the last weekend of November.

    94 25p Evinrude won't stop

I finally got the new switch installed this past weekend. I found a place that was easier to get to to attach the ground wire. Everything went in easy as pie. To bad i was only able to start the engine to get the stabilized gas flowing through it, before putting it away for the winter...

    Ice Fishing Blues

I've had a couple of dreams in the last week about ice fishing.... As of today, 9/15, it's about two months until the big ice fishing show here in the twin cities, and three to mid december, when the ice is usually thick enough that you aren't taking your life into your hands for a few 'gills...

    94 25p Evinrude won't stop

LOL, I can hear my wife saying the same thing! I've learned that anything that I say is going to be easy ends up kicking my ar***! There ended up being a bit of destructive testing! I had to pop the switch apart to get to the leads, so at that point I was able to test each side of the switch...

    94 25p Evinrude won't stop

I'll be putting that one in the cart! I was out looking at the switch that is in their now. I took the switch apart, and the contacts were clean. I then tested each side of the circuit with the multimeter. The side going to ground worked fine. I pulled the harness apart and tested that...

    94 25p Evinrude won't stop

I fiddled with it a bit the other day. Could not see where how to disconnect the wires at the switch end, but it sounds like that may not be necessary. I was able to trace the wires back to the powerpack and ground. just need to take a closer look at how to disconnect them so I can hook up the...

    94 25p Evinrude won't stop

It was a day of mixed blessings today. Got the boat back out after a two month hiatus (lots of crummy weather and other obligations) and got my first Walleye on the lake I was on! but then the motor started to act up in a weird way. The motor fired right up, and we were off to fish. We got...

    Where to put the panels?

So i ordered myself the 6 way fuse box and 5 swtich panel that I referred back to on a previous post https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=27168. They finally came this past week, and I think I have the wiring part figured out. Like I suspected, the fuse box does have a...
