12.26.09 - Cherokee Lake, TN... Windy but fun!

Well my two cousins met me at the house at 5am and we headed to the lake. We were on the water at daylight and the wind was already 5-10MPH. We finally found a calm spot and spend most of the morning working a long stretch of bank. The fish bit good up until 11am and then they decided to take a break. We tried several different spots with only a fish or two show for it. Around 2pm we found another calm bank and the bite was back on. We ended up with 20 total with 11 Spots, 7 Smallmouth, 1 Drum and 1 Carp. The good Lord blessed us with great day, with 3 keeper smallies and several butterball spots. We also saw the biggest bird I have ever seen in the wild... it was hard to tell if it was an Eagle or a Hawk. If it was a hawk, it has to be the biggest ever. Chime in if you know what it is. Bird looks like and Osprey. Or could be a Red Tailed Hawk.. Kind of hard to tell from the pic.
