I got this Jon boat a few weeks ago and have been working on it once or twice a week. It came with a 1974 merc 6.5hp engine and a trolling motor, niether of which worked as promised. These are the pics of when I first got the boat...

well so far I've built a tackle storage, rebuilt the transom cause the old one was rotted out, I got a new motor (94 8hp evinrude), I've put in cup holders, a radio, nav light, new anchor line, and am redoing the seat.
I just bought the stencils for the digital camo paint I'm going to do, and new SS cleats. I have galvanized ones but going to upgrade. I am about to go to the store now to get steel flex as well (just to have it ready for when it comes time to paint.) Im going to build a casting deck today and enclose the battery in the middle seat and make a nice hinged bench seat to go over it. Not sure what else I'll be able to do today.... Maybe finally figure out where I'm going to put all the rod holders.
But here are some pics of what I've done so far!

I didnt get too much time yesterday before it got dark but I started making the battery/dry storage box. Today I was able to finish running the wires nice and hidden. I also started sanding down the boat to get it ready for paint. I'll finish all the rest of the mods after the paint.

So i got a question for on the tackle box you built you have it flush to the floor how are you going to put a lower deck in and still have the door open??? What plans do you have for the front deck part of the boat??

When I put the lower deck back in as removable pieces so I can keep it clean, I'm going to cut an angle on the edge so the door can open with no problem. The lower deck was like that before, except the person I got the boat from didn't keep it clean and messed up some of the boat (I've fixed it now). But I'm going to carpet it and actually make it nice unlike how it was when I got it.
As for the top deck, Im planning on extending the front seat 18 inches giving me a nice casting platform.

You gave me some ideas with the storage container holder. Thanks.

You are welcome. I've been slammed with work but have been sanding and just started painting today for a about 10 minutes before I got called in to work. Post pictures tomorrow.

Thank you. I started the steel flex and paint but never got around to finishing it before I had to leave for thanks giving. I've also removed to runners from the trailer and finally received my stencils for my camo paint. I also found some sweet liner for the boat floor for when its time for assembly again. Pictures coming soon of the whole process of paint and steel flex.

Sorry I havent posted in a few days. barely got to work on the boat over the weekend (had to work a tonnnnn) but here is what I did while I could. I did the steel flex, primered and painted the base of the outside of the boat, and started the digital camp paint job. I've gotten a little further that I have pictured but not enough to need to post more pictures. Tomorrow I should have the paint done on the outside and I cant flip the baot and paint inside and then move to the trailer....

Now I'm jealous. I dream of digital camo on my boat but doesn't look like I will have it this go around.

I bought stencils.. I looked at websites that had them but they were like $40 and up but found some on ebay for like $15 and it came with 2 stencils.

Ok so I finally finished painting the outside today before heading into work. Just thought I'd share the pictures before passing out. Enjoy!

Looking nice. You got me starting to think I really need to add the camo to my boat instead of on down the line. I am leaning towards the bigger digital camo print.

Thanks. I love it! I didnt know it was going to be that small when I ordered them but the area isn't very big when I painted the camo so it worked out great.

Just finished paint yesterday! worked all through the day today so I'm going to start assembly tomorrow but here are the pics of the inside done..
