1974 14' vhull. I got this boat in trade for an old 1965 marlin 30-30 rifel. It was about a 2 month project. Still missing some pictures. I added a small deck on the top of the bow. It added structural support. I also had a 5hp mariner on it. I traded the boat for another boat that was in much better structural condition it was a 12 'vhull that I ended up selling for $1200 on craigslist. Pretty good flip I think.

It's not often anyone makes a profit on a boat !!!!
so any flip with some extra $$$$ is a good thing, as long as
you didn't fall in love with it.

that is the boat owners problem:
#1 = you see it, you like it, you buy it.
#2 = you start working on it, playing with it
#3 = you develop a relationship with it, start calling it Baby, etc.
#4 = you post a reward poster for the person that dented your Baby in the parking lot.
#5 = time to sell it, get something bigger and better - tears come to your eyes just thinking about it.
#6 = you convince your wife (or husband) that having two boats is not a bad thing - so you keep your Baby.
#7 = time to upgrade again - trying to find the words to tell your wife (or husband) that you have had a
new boat hidden out behind the garage for the past 4 months.
#8 = you find yourself in a room, in a circle of chairs - somebody gets up and says - - - -
Hello, my name is Johnny, and I am a boat hoarder.
#9 = The circle of strangers, all say in unison:
Welcome Johnny, there is help here . . . but you not a gonna lika the solution.
you gotta let go summa your boats.

.

For me flipping boats was supposed to be a winter hobbie. But I just cant seem to stop. Ive been upgrading on craigslist for about 3 years now. I started with a canoe that I paid cash for and about 5 boats later ive got a 16ft aluminum bass boat and im taking my family to disney world with the extra boat money I have earned.

Depending on the condition of the Marlin, it was probably worth several times what that boat is worth.
