Is a 14 foot jon boat big enough to put a deck on it and use it on the lake?

Yes it is. It's pretty stable, others disagree, but I'm not 6'4 and 250# so maybe that has something to do with it. Be prepared for other boats wakes and try to keep the bow turned into the wakes. That will help with any issues.

I'm doing a deck on mine and others on here have as well. Look thru the posts in this section and check out some of the cool mods others have done. I'll be posting pics of mine in 2-3 days of my decking project as well.

yep, sure is. Keep the deck as low and light as possible and you should be fine

Hello and welcome. Yes. It does somewhat depend on the width of the boat. Mine is a 1436. I put a deck on the front and a floor in the middle and a back deck as well. It is pretty stable. Much better than I expected. I am a pretty big guy (#260) and it was fine with me up front. Please feel free to take a look at my setup. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

it all depends on how wide the boat is.

A 1432 is probably not the best to try and deck, but a 1452 would be no problem.
