1950 wizard broken ring question

So I have an old 1950 kiefinger wizard super twin 6hp. Pulled the heads clean everything out. While installing the pistons back in I had a ring on each piston break. Each were about a half inch piece. Question is since fining rings for this engine is going to suck, can it run with the missing 1/2 inch of a ring. With it being a 2 stroke I'm curious.

Yea NO was the answer I was expecting to see. I will head on over to that website to see. I've also posted on wizardoutbaordforum.com and waiting on discount marine to call me back. This is a huge set back to finishing this boat.

how did you break the rings? Did you use a ring compressor?
