So I have a 25HP Johnson from 69 that is a short shaft but I need a long shaft for my boat. It starts well and seems to be a good motor save for needing a new seal on the lower unit.

I’ve been looking at parts to extend to a long shaft and wanted to confirm that I only need the 5” housing extension, longer driveshaft, and longer shifter. What else am I missing and and recommendations/suggestions/tips for installation?

Thanks! I’ve been enjoying the site and am planning my redo of my boat based on what I’m reading here.

The longer copper water pipe!!
A motor that old may not be worth the trouble though.

you'll need the longer water tube also. part number 313778.

And the longer bolt for the front.
