Thanks again for the tip guys.... quick question tho when applying your JB weld. Did you have everything sanded away down to bare aluminum boat and rivot before you apllied or did you you just scruff away the paint mostly and then apply??

Take it down to bare aluminum.

Whats up people? Been tinkering around with some more electrical stuff on the ole boat lately. Here is what I got going on. Installed a bilge pump and was able to wire it and the stern light to some switches. Hope you enjoy!

Worked on the rear bench seat last night. The foam in these things are a SOB to get out! Got the carpet from Lowes (Since my Bass Pro doesnt keep any in stock. Guy at BPS said its the same as outdoor carpet and its cheaper to hardware stores.) and I have elevator bolts through the board and under the carpet to mount the board to the seat. Ill post more later on when I get more progress completed.

Finally have both front and rear seats modified. Was able to remove all the foam inside both (at one point I had a mouse living in the front bench *see pic) and place ply wood inside the seat and make nice little storage units inside of both! :D

Also have the blige pump installed with the discharge hose and port running out of the back of the boat! Pretty excited about everything. Only thing left I want to do is to build a font storage deck that has a compartment door that will fold up and a cooler will be able to sit nice and snug inside of it. (Boat is too shallow to have it totally stored under it!) It will be a nice little space too to hold life jackets and other odd equipment!

Doubt I will be able to get to that before I take it out on the lake this weekend, but Ill get some more nice pictures with it all cleaned out and looking good!.

Been a while people. So the stuff I tried using to patch over some rivots on the bottom of my puddle jumper didnt pan out the way I wished last summer. I have since started to knock off that stuff and other stuff the previous owner used and really rough up around the edges of these rivots and apply some JB Weld to them. Ive heard of some of you all using this method. Any suggestions or other ideas out there on a Plan C if Plan B still doesnt work out the way I want?

P.S. Ive installed a bilge pump to pump out the water that does accumulate in the boat while im out on it. Cant let a little water stop me from getting after it.

I also need some suggestions on running power to the back of my boat. Since its small and im no 100 lb teenager, I want to have my battery in the front of the boat to more evenly distribute the weight. Anyone have suggestions on what gauge wire i need to run from the front of the boat to the back to power the trolling motor? Has anyone done this before? What can I use for connectors or posts to attach the power cords for the trolling motor to? Any help would be great. Thanks everyone.

Im using jumper cables with the ends cut off and replaced with battery terminals on one end, and on the other end im adding a plug/socket for the trolling motor. Others on here have done this as well, so its not my idea :) Make sure you use a 50 amp breaker at the battery end!

Thanks Maestro for the tip. You wouldnt happen to have a picture of that set up would you?
