weather has let up some today,so i started working on the storage and the livewell areas.hard doing when you have a broken foot and 95 degree weather.if anyone could give me suggestions on how to properly( put),cut the carpeting in, such as the back area as pictured i would appreciate it.i didnt wanna just lay carpeting down the cut out the hatch are,it would be wasted then.

Just posting this for everyone's information,

When all of us on tinboats build compartments in a boat that will be used to store fuel, an operator needs to make sure to abide his state's regulations concerning fuel storage or take the chance of getting a big ticket courtesy of your wildlife agent. Here is what the state of Florida says about it......

Ventilation (Boats built prior to August 1, 1980)
At least two ventilator ducts fitted with cowls or their equivalent for the purpose of properly and efficiently ventilating the bilges of every closed engine and fuel -tank compartment of boats constructed or decked over after April 25, 1940, using gasoline as fuel or other fuels having a flash point of 110 degrees or less.

Ventilation (Boats built after August 1, 1980)
At least two ventilator ducts for the purpose of efficiently ventilating every closed compartment that contains a gasoline engine and every closed compartment containing a gasoline tank, except for those having permanently installed tanks which vent outside the boat and contain no unprotected electrical devices. Also, engine compartments containing a gasoline engine having a cranking motor must contain power operated exhaust blowers which can be controlled from the instrument panel.

Looks good, I'm headed the same route with my starcraft.

It doesn't look like you are adding any additional support to the battery box you are making out of the cut seat. I would higly recommend that you add a vertical support at inboard end. The force created by that weight in an unsupported compartment when you go through a chop or some wakes is likely to do some damage.

thanks for the info mmf.i was stopped on the river in my other boat which was decked over the fuel tank also, they never gave me a ticket because the fuel tanks are not built in and can be thrown overboard so they said.did get a ticket for not having all my safety devices..whistle.like anybody is gonna hear that way out in the bay..lol
as far as the support i will be installing braces on the inside of the battery box, like the other side.they were getting water sealed when i took the pics.

here is the bottom painted.top will be red.painted it the first time and would u know it wld decide to rain .so had to repaint next day.i used rusteoleum and added a hardner i got from a paint store.hard as a rock.next step is to finish inside compartments, wire everything paint the rest of the boat then carpet the inside.should be completed except carpet tomorrow, hopefully depending on this florida weather.
