Hey all! I am finally attempting to post my build. I got the boat in early 2011 and started my build soon after. The boat had been in my step dads back yard since 1991 and before that was in Illinois with the original owner who had bought it new back in 1976. I received the temp title that came with boat when first purchased, and the owners manual with a Starcraft catalog from 1976 which was very cool to look at. Unfortunately I had no title so I went through ITS and got it registered and eventually titled. Here it is once I cleaned it up, and I had already replaced the transom.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360647061.559177.jpg
This is when I cut out the middle bench. I then proceeded to move that middle bench up closer to the front bench and cut and rivet it there so I use it as part of the frame for the deck.

I painted the inside a teal color, it was on sale at Home Depot.

I did the outside black

I did the frame work for the deck out of some aluminum angle and an old aluminum door that I found in a dumpster. It ended up very solid.

Cut a hole in the rear bench for my switch panel and some dry storage.

As far as electrical goes I installed 5 green LED strips, fish and depth finder, stern light, and bilge pump.

I want to thank TinBoats.net for the inspiration and ideas cause without it this would have never happened. I also want to thank my buddy Huntinfool for all his help as well. His knowledge and experience was a life saver! Thanks TinBoats!

Awesome write up buddy. Hope I can make it up there one day and take her for a fishin trip. Been too long already!

Looks great man. Im just getting ready to add a hatch like yours on the rear bench.does the aluminum from the bench where the hinge is bolted to flex much under the weight of the hatch when it is open?

No, not at all. No flex and very sturdy. One thing to keep in mind. Make sure it has some kind of latch to keep it closed or have it open from the back. I didn't think about it when I built it and first time I went down the highway the hatch blew open. Now I just have a bungee cord wrapped around it.

I like the boat. great idea using the LED lights. where did get them? and was it hard to wire in your switch board? Great Job on the boat.

Thanks for the compliments! I bought the LED lights on EBay and they were only about a dollar a piece. Just search "Flexible Car Strip Light Bulb Green Waterproof 24 LED N" and it will pull up the exact seller I bought it from. As far as hooking up the switch panel it was pretty easy. When I wired the boat I made sure I had everything labeled so when it came time to hook it up there was no confusion.

Nice boat. You did a good job. I look forward to fishing with/ against you in the club. Lol.

I just purchased a 14' Starcraft Sea-lite and am interested in adding fishing decks. How is the stability of yours when using the deck?
