alright my old beast of a trolling motor needs a 24 volt connection anyone know if i can connect my (starting) motor on the same connection with the outboard ?

You probably do not want to do that - your starter is 12 volt - you could connect it to one side of the batteries so you just get the 12 volts needed
 
so if if i have two battery's connect for 24 volts i can just connect it to one of the batterys ?
 
yes. just make sure your pos/pos and neg/neg on the 12 volt connection. If your system charges it is also gonna charge that specific battery, which IMO is not ideal. with a 24 volt system the battery's drain evenly, I prefer to charge them evenly as well myself, all tho it probably wont hurt anything.
