Wow was it ever HOT today. Barely a cloud in the sky and triple degree temps, But the fish were biting!! We landed 9 different species today. 12 flounders 6oz. - 2lbs, 5 baby Black Tip Sharks 2-5lbs, 3 Redfish 1-15lbs, 60 Speckled Trout 6oz-4lbs, 1 Gafftop Catfish, 1 hardhead Catfish, 10 Spanish Mackeral 1-3lbs, 5 Ladyfish (one was the biggest one I have ever caught), and 30 White Trout 6oz-2lbs.

We fished today in a remote area of the Biloxi Marsh called Isle Le Pete. It was the first time I had been there since hurricane Katrina. We grew up fishing and camping on the keys in this area with my dad and grandfather. Katrina ravaged the shell keys that use to go for miles. I would say that half of the land mass/marsh is gone.

Back to the fishing. We chased birds most of the day. It was weird that schools of Specks would be running with Spanish Mackeral. At times all three of us would be hooked up at one time and today you never knew what you were reeling in. We would catch 10-20 fish at each stop and then the sharks would move in and either cut the fish you were reeling in in half or cut your line. We would move a couple hundred yards and repeat the process all day. We had some huge Bull Sharks that would swim up too the boat and check us out.

Guys and Gals, be careful on the water with this heat. We brought a case of water and a case of cokes. It was so hot that it was all gone by 1PM today. It could have been a huge problem if we would have broke down (lesson learned). I had to take several dives overboard to cool off. The guys I was with are new to saltwater fishing and I wish you could have seen their faces  [-X when I jumped overboard after seeing those sharks earlier.

That looks like a blast, there is no better way to keep cool that catching fish all day. You may be pouring sweat, but you don't notice it when the fish want to play.

Thanks Guys!! It's cooking down here. It's 10:40AM and I showing 96 under a shaded poarch. The ocean temps are still cool but I've noticed that they are rising about a half degree a day. Warm Gulf = more hurricanes

Man,it looks hot.
Way to go on the fishing.
I know I wouldn't jump in the water if i seen bull sharks around, then again I swim like a cat thrown in water so I doubt I jump in anytime:)
