A Gift

I had a buddy who gave me an awesome, yet uncomplete gift and I was looking for some advice. He had an extra Humminbird 585c fishfinder, and he unloaded it on me. I called Humminbird, and they said it was discontinued, but it previously retailed for $349.00. In my opinion, that is a nice fishfinder for my small jon boat. In order to actually use it, I need to order a transducer, power cord, and unit base. All of these accessories will total around $100. Any advice??? I would love to hear from someone who has this fishfinder and let me know if they like/dislike it.
