I just found a deal on Craigslist for 2 used aluminum trailer guides for $35. I went over and got them. They're really strong, surely meant for a larger craft than my 14 foot v-hull. The aluminum is solid as a rock, but somewhat pitted and discolored from years of being in a salt water environment. What can I do to clean these guides up, and make them more presentable? Steel wool, or some kind of aluminum refresher? Only the bottom will be seen, because of the PVC that covers them. Will post pics when I install them.

I've got an aluminum MC trailer and the pitting/corrosion/oxidation is normal but I got a small wire brush on a dremel tool and polished it up to remove some. Easy way to do it but it will return since it will it will be exposed to the elements.
