We made our annual 3 day Venice fishing trip this past weekend. The fishing and temp was HOT!!! Two of us went through 2 cases of water and 20 power aids in 3 days.
Friday we limited out on Mangrove Snapper and Lane Snapper, few Cobia, red snapper, Triple Tail, Redfish, Flounder, and had two schools of Tarpon come by the boat but we couldn't land one.
Saturday we ran further offshore and landed some stud Scamp, Red Snapper, and Gag Grouper. We had to release the Gags due to season being closed. Several were 30 +lbs. We ran out of ice chest and had to release every fish we caught after only a couple of hours of fishing. Caught several Cobia and Triple Tail on the way back in.
Sunday we kept it close in and went 6 out of 9 on Cobia keeping 2. went 4 for 6 on Triple Tail. Stopped at the jetties and caught Redfish and Flounder.
It was a great/Tiring trip. It's two days after and I'm still drained.
