I was just wondering if anyone here has any experience with the larger tin boats that are popular in the northwest? The wife took a liking to an Alumaweld Blackhawk. I think it was the 22' version of the attached pic. I like the fact that there is about an acre of rear deck to fish out of but I'm wondering how it would ride in the rough stuff with the cabin way forward. I'm also not sure the chick would enjoy giving up the plush comforts of the Lund for the utilitalian interior. we have been considering upsizing our rig but I think the 53,000 dollar cost of a 21' Lund might be more then we want to spend right now.

Alumaweld's are awesome boats! My dad owns a 20' Intruder with a 115 hp evinrude. We troll for salmon on Lake Michigan often and it handles the big stuff really well. That being said, they are light boats so you have to have some tough skin in 3 to 4 footers running back to port!
