Ok part of the carpet on my Arkansas Traveler has worn out and I have a few days to fix it. I am open to opinions. I can simply replace it with more carpet. I could prime and then paint (which has sand mixed into it for traction). If I paint it will probably cover up the heads of the screws which would make the removal of the floor down the road more difficult.

The plywood used is about 1/2 inch thick. I am thinking maybe I want to remove it and install aluminum. Where would I even get aluminum?

Last if you look at the picture there is a hatch. It is about 11 1/4 inches long (bow to stern). I can make it wider. I think there must have been a bench seat there before the closed bow was chopped up and turned into a duck boat by a previous owner. Any suggestions for this spot. I don't think I could get a livewell or cooler in there.
