Dash Cam Mount

Anyone have a dash cam and care to share what kind of mount do you use? I'll be using a GoPro.

I'm a little reluctant to use the suction cup ones (my dash isn't smooth).

I use something similar to this device and mount the suction cup to it, then set in on the dash.

On a car theveide is smoother, but if using on a boat, I would want a clamp or screw on mount.
