Reading all the posts here on how to add a floor or deck, it seems that many people go way overboard on designs and work involved.
I have a covered patio 16 feet deep and 51 feet long
It's made of foam filled aluminum sheets. 5 feet wide and 16 feet long. It is only supported at the roofline and at the forward edge. It is strong enough to walk on.
It strikes me that this is the perfect material to use.
Check with carport installers to get it.
One sheet 5 by 16 feet should easily be enough for a 16 ft boat.
Due to it's construction only minimal bracing should be needed.
Its lighter than plywood and completely waterproof and adds a sustancial amount of flotation.
