I had a great outing on Saturday (10/8/2011) out here in Cincinnati, OH. My friend and I fished from 8am-1pm, targeting largemouth bass and then hybrid stripers that are stocked in this reservoir. It took a while to find the fish, but after we did it was non-stop hybrid striper action for at least 2 hours. They seemed to be sitting on a flat that was located on the west side of the lake where large rocks were soaking up the sun. The wind was also blowing towards the rocks and lots of shad were around. The water levels in the lake were normal, and we were casting to the rocks near a drop-off while our boat was sitting in 15 feet of water.

Most hybrids were taken on BPS McShads that were fished very erratically like a jerkbait. Some of them hit white Roostertails and white curly tail grubs, but almost everything was a short strike or a swipe at the lure. The aggressive jerking motion of the McShad seemed to really tick them off and they hammered it pretty hard, even up until 1pm when we had to leave quickly to get home. 12 hybrids were caught in total, 3 largemouth, 3 crappie, and quite a few gills/warmouth. Too bad we could not have stayed later!

Here's a picture of 2 of the fish. My friend caught several bigger ones but I haven't pulled the pictures off of my camera yet to show them off. I'll try and update this later with more shots:
