Hy guys. I have a question ? I am interested in taking a factory hull like G3
Or any welded ribbed hull and replacing the back 6' or so of the bottom?
We are talking about a 6 deg dead rise hull, I was told by someone that he has done it
1st cut welds on stringers, next cut out bottom leaving about an inch on sides ,
Form new bottom piece to deadrise and insert into opening
Weld up all, I am wanting to use 3/16 aluminum.
All this is to install a sport jet into the hull and have some beef to hold it
Any ideas? Thanks

I'd only replace / modify what was needed for the pump inlet. I don't see any benefit to replacing the back 6' of the hull unless it was badly damaged.

Thanks, I guess the feeling is if you are going to take a hard hit it will most likely be in the back 4-6'
Just trying to prevent major damage!
Now thinking about a hd plate about 18-20 inches wide and 8' long only in the center
Like the hd plate on a river pro. Only cut out where the pump tunnel goes?

Above pict is what the tunnel will look like. This is the 1/4" piece over existing hull with cutout for tunnel.
