Specifically, using an old trolling motor to mount it to? I don't know what to use or want size to make it. A pic would be great. My boat is a 16' flat jon, with a 48" wide floor. Thanks.

I used this exact set up. An old trolling motor mount and a 15" square piece of ply wood bolted to the bottom. 3 coats of paint on the plywood and its lasted 3 years and still looks great. Works very well. My boat is an all-welded G3 1548. I tried to find a piece of sheet aluminum but the plywood works great.

Thanks. You don't have a pic of it mounted, do you? So you drilled thru the shaft and used bolts? What size bolts did you use?
