ok , so i have decided that i am going to use my pop rivet gun and pop rivets on the stuff that is not exposed to water , but i am going to use solid rivets to fix spots near and under the water line.
my question is installing the solid rivets. should i put anything on them before they go in? i have quite a few to replace and i want to use an air rivet driver but do not want to spend the $200 dollars for a rivet driver! is it possible to buy an air chisel from harbor freight , cut the end off of one of the detachable chisels and dome the end of it out slightly with a drill bit. then just get a adjustable valve to put in line between the tool and the air supply? would this work?? i would like to think it would , but am not sure?? if not , what is the best way to replace them by hand?
