Hey guys,

I got my boat cleaned up, primed, and painted today \:D/ . I'll post pics tomorrow. It was too dark this evening. Well, my next step is to put my floor down. Went to Lowes and saw the carpet that I'm getting. My question thought is related to mounting seats.

Keeping in mind that my boat is a 10 footer I'm mounting the seats directly to the benches. Can someone tell me exactly what I need and how to do this? This is my first aluminum boat so I'm really clueless. I'd like to be able to swivel a little bit. Here's what I "THINK" I need. Can someone tell me if I'm headed in the right direction? Am I missing something?

That's part of what you need. You don't want to use a pedestal, correct? If not, you need to buy a clamp-on jon boat seat bracket. I think it comes with the swivel part you posted. The bracket slides over the bench seat, then you tighten the 2 bolts on each side. Sorry, but I don't know how to post a link.

No. I will not be using a pedestal. Are those clamp-on's sturdy? I've heard that they slip off sometimes. I was thinking about just mounting directly to the bench.

This has to be the nicest clamp i've seen. The other ones are all junk!! They will either break or slip off the bench no matter how much you tighten them. My last experience with them ended up sending me you know what over tea kettle when i hit the throttle to get under way. :x Lets just say the whole thing seat included became a little fish reef at the bottom of the ICW about 5 seconds after that little fiasco.

:LOL2:

They also make another one that allows you to slide the seat from left to right...adjustable on the fly.
