Went on a rare trout fishing trip today. Hiked 3 miles up the Chattooga River. Got to fish a 3/4 miles section of river alone all day. Thats the only access to the river in 6 miles stretch. I caught at least 5 dozen trout. The biggest 6-7 going 8-10 inches. I know the size wasnt there but I found the numbers. After having a bit of a dry spell, it was a nice change. I had a blast. It was cloudy and drizzled off and on all day, the bite was on. I didnt have a camera but I will post a pic of the area from a backpacking trip. What a way to spend a Saturday!

Are the trout u caught stocked or native?
All I got was stockers. I have caught a 15" native in that area. Had the big knot on lower lip and all.

I did see a couple when I first got to the water. They were backpacking and just pulling out from camping the night before. I saw no one else until a campsite 10 minutes from the truck.
