Start with a medium onion, chopped. Saute in a little oil and add three cloves fresh garlic, minced. When onions are done, add one pound lean ground round, loose. When meat is brown, drain well and add the meat and onion mix to a casserole dish. Now add one can cream of mushroom soup, just the paste in the can, no liquids. Stir well and cover, then place in preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and spoon off any fat that has risen to top, if any. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve on toasted english muffins.
Some have added jalapeno peppers to the mix, others have added fresh mushrooms, but as for my personal taste I like it as is.
Go withs.........a few chips, some applesauce and a glass of cold milk really go well with the sandwiches.
