The boat:
1986 Bass Tracker Tournament V-17 bass boat, decks and transom all aluminum. Mercury 75 Horse 2 cycle for gas power.
Main use:
Fishing large lakes near Jefferson, GA - Sidney Lanier, Oconee, Hartwell. Possible some river use in Middle Oconee if access can be located within reasonable driving distance. Will mainly pursue blue gills, spotted bass and occasional hybrid striper.
Storage area:
I have a storage area in the front within 5 ft. of the trolling motor. The deck hatch lids look big enough to fit Group 27 batteries through. There is enough room to fit two trolling motor batteries in the area with room to spare. I would rather not put three due to weight.
There is also a storage area in the back that originally contained two 6 gallon steel gas tanks, two group 27 batteries, (one trolling motor battery and one starting battery). I am removing the trolling motor battery from this area to make room for a more modern plastic gas tank.
Based on your experience, please help me pick the better trolling motor for my application. There is a $260.00 difference between the least expensive and most expensive option.
