So I've read about this "non-migratory silicone epoxy" stuff, which means silicone mixed throughout epoxy. Apparently if the coating is chipped, the surface stays slippery. This is what I want for my tin boat!

Why is there only one manufacturer producing this kind of paint? "Wearlon". They are also behind "Wetlander". Aren't there any knock offs? I can't bring myself to spend $210 on paint/primer, but I really like the features.

The guy in this picture seems to be using some kind of silicone epoxy.

Anyone know anything???

I used SteelFlex along with hundreds of other folks here. I dont know if it has silicone in it or not but its definately tough stuff. I think it cost me around 80 bucks or so to do the bottom of my boat and dosnt require any primer. That said, I watched the "wetlander" videos and that stuff is impressive. I'll definately be considering it for my next build.
