I HAVE AN OLDER HUMMINGBIRD FISHFINDER MY QUESTION IS DO THEY EVER NEED RECALIBRATED OR ARE THEY JUST THROW AWAYS ANY MORE MINE DOSENT SEEM TO BE THAT ACCURATE TO ME, SO I TOOK IT OFF THE BOAT AND IM LOST WITHOUT ONE I GOT A PORTABLE THAT I REALY DONT LIKE SHOULD I REPLACE THESE WITH NEW OR CAN THEY BE "FIXED"
 
You sure there isn't an adjustment that you can set the bottom?

On my Lowrance there is because you don't know how deep in the water the transducer is mounted.
 
NOT SURE ILL HAVE TO LOOK INTO IT ITS NOT OFF BY A FOOT OR SO I MEAN ITS OFF BUT NOT ALL THE TIME IT SEEMS I JUST DONT THINK ITS VERY TRUSTWORTHY, I KNOW ILL BE IN 17-18 FT OF WATER AND IT WILL READ 30 OR MORE SOMETIMES, JUST GOOFY
